BENNION TEACHERS' WORKSHOP FOR THE PERPETUATION OF DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES

Thanks to an endowment created by Ione Bennion, a teacher and community activist, the Mountain West Center offers an annual teachers' workshop focused on wide-ranging topics related to the perpetuation of democracy. The workshop is held each summer in Logan and is taught by various members of the USU faculty. More information here. (Under construction)

NORTHERN UTAH/ SOUTHEASTERN IDAHO FOLKLIFE PROJECT
 
Through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies will be conducting field research on the traditional lifeways of people of northern Utah and southeastern Idaho. This project is a partnership with the Utah Arts Council, the Idaho Commission on the Arts, the Bear River Heritage Area, and USU's Special Collections and Archives. Fieldwork will take place in 2010 and 2011.
